Ophthalmology (pediatric)

Many vision problems are not obvious. A child might squint, say their eyes are tired when they read, or say that things look blurry from far away.

The ophthalmologist will check how well the patient can see, look inside the eyes, check the eye pressure, and order more tests if needed. The earlier the disease is detected, the easier it is to correct vision and find effective treatment, including eyeglasses or other devices.
