Treatment of silent sinus syndrome
A condition in which the walls of the maxillary sinus are deformed, which causes a decrease in the volume of one or more paranasal sinuses without obvious symptoms of inflammation.
The syndrome can lead to aesthetic and functional disorders, such as retraction of the area under the eye or difficulty in nasal breathing.
Before starting treatment, a diagnosis is performed, including a CT scan of the sinuses, as well as an endoscopic examination of the nasal passages. This allows you to accurately determine the degree of change in the volume of the sinuses and develop an individual treatment plan.
Depending on the patient's condition, treatment may include various methods, including surgical ones. Endoscopic techniques are often used, in which the doctor removes accumulated material from the sinuses and, if necessary, performs correction of anatomical features.
Patients are advised to avoid intense stress and temperature fluctuations in the postoperative period. It is important to follow all the prescriptions of the attending physician, including taking medications and performing nasal tract care procedures.
