Cherry angioma removal
Cherry angiomas (CA) are benign vascular growths that appear as bright red bumps on the skin. They are usually no more than 5 mm in diameter. They often appear on people over 25 or 30 and are found on the neck, arms, chest, and abdomen.
Cherry angiomas do not pose a threat to patients' health or life, nor are they prone to malignant degeneration. However, they can bleed when injured, causing discomfort. The main cause of their occurrence has not yet been determined.
No additional tests are required prior to removal, and the procedure only takes a few minutes. Consulting with a specialist to confirm the diagnosis is sufficient.
If a patient is concerned about the appearance of cherry angiomas or if there is a risk of injury, the growth can be removed under local anesthesia. We use advanced methods such as laser or electrocoagulation, depending on the angioma's size and location. The procedure takes a few minutes and is performed on an outpatient basis.
A scab will form at the removal area that must be treated with an antiseptic solution. After a few weeks, an almost invisible scar will appear. No long-term rehabilitation is necessary.
