Pediatric CT scanning
This technology allows for safe and accurate internal organ and tissue diagnostics with minimal radiation exposure.
Computed tomography (CT) is a diagnostic method that provides layer-by-layer images of a child's internal organs, bones, and soft tissues. It is both safe and suitable for patients of all ages.
CT can be used to examine the brain, chest, abdominal organs, spine, sinuses, joints and other anatomical areas.
Benefits
Emergency and routine situations
Helps clarify diagnoses and decisions in urgent and chronic cases.
Comfortable environment
The examination is quick and comfortable.
Precise visualization
Displays the smallest tissue and organ changes, including hidden pathologies.
Safe for children
Low-dose modes reduce radiation exposure to the lowest possible level.
Preparation
A CT without contrast requires no special preparation. A CT scan with contrast requires no eating 4-6 hours before the procedure. Inform your healthcare provider of allergies, diabetes, kidney failure, and chronic diseases. All metal objects and jewelry should be removed before the examination.
Procedure
The child is placed on the moving CT scanner table. One of the parents may be there if needed. While the machine is scanning, the child must stay still, so that the image quality is not affected. A CT scan with contrast uses a special dye that is injected into a vein before or during the test. The procedure is completely painless, takes 5 to 20 minutes, and doesn't cause any discomfort.
Results
A diagnostician receives detailed information about a child's internal organ and tissue condition. The images are processed using specialized software that enables 3D reconstruction, assessing the shape, structure, and location of organs. We will prepare a detailed report on the identified pathologies and provide recommendations for further actions as soon as possible.
