Pediatric gynecology involves diagnostics and treatment of external and internal genital diseases, menstrual disorders, inflammatory processes, hormonal disorders. We treat according to age and physical characteristics, using safe examination methods.
Appointments are required for any complaints or during mandatory examinations at the ages of 1, 3, 6-7, and annually once puberty starts. Specialist consultation is indicated in case of menstrual irregularities, lower abdominal pain, unusual discharge, or early or delayed sexual development.
No special preparation is required. Make sure to perform the necessary hygienic procedures before the visit.
The appointment will begin with a conversation with the mother or other accompanying adult. A specialist will gather medical history, assess symptoms, and determine if there are any developmental concerns or potential transferred diseases. Next, the examination is conducted: on the couch for infants, on the gynecological chair for adolescents, if necessary. The physician assesses the structure of the external genitalia and the state of the mammary glands. The examination is carried out carefully and only when necessary, using a pediatric gynecological mirror and vaginoscope. Some cases may require additional testing or taking smears.
We use a pediatric gynecological chair, minimal diameter vaginoscopes, and instruments for a painless and gentle examination. Pelvic ultrasound and other examinations are performed as necessary.
Parents will receive a medical report with sexual development evaluation and the state of the child's reproductive system. Additionally they receive care, inflammation prevention, and healthy hygiene habits recommendations. All prescriptions are made according to the principles of evidence-based medicine.
