Treatment of the disease
Risk factors include: metabolic disorders, hormonal imbalance, genetic predisposition, damage to the uterine wall, immune diseases. Our doctors help prevent negative consequences.
During the initial consultation, the gynecologist-surgeon conducts a clinical examination of the patient. A comprehensive diagnosis is prescribed: blood and urine tests, a vaginal smear for bacterial culture. Depending on concomitant diseases, advanced laboratory diagnostics may be prescribed. To determine the degree of endometrial growth, ultrasound of the pelvic organs, diagnostic hysteroscopy, CT and MRI, as well as colonoscopy are performed. Based on the data obtained, the doctor selects the type of operation and determines the time for its implementation. Typically, minimally invasive surgery is performed in the first half of the menstrual cycle. A few days before the planned date of surgery, based on the results of the examination, the patient meets with an anesthesiologist for individual selection
Hospitalization takes place on the morning of the operation. The last intake of water and solid food should be at least 6 hours before planned surgery. Immediately before surgery, you must empty your bowels and bladder. Surgical treatment of endometriosis is performed using spinal or general anesthesia. Hysteroscopy is performed using a special high-precision hysteroscope, which is inserted into the uterus through the vagina. The device allows you to study in detail the inner layer of the uterus, detect foci of endometriosis and remove them under visual control. Laparoscopy provides access to foci of endometriosis through micropunctures on the anterior wall of the abdomen. Using a laparoscope, a gynecologist-surgeon finds foci of endometriosis and performs the necessary manipulations with special instruments under visual control. Laparoscopy makes it possible to minimize abdominal wall incisions and carefully remove pathology without the risk of adhesions or complications. Discharge usually occurs on the day of surgery after hysteroscopy and one day after laparoscopy.
After the operation, prescriptions and recommendations from the attending gynecologist are issued. A week after the operation, you can return to your usual work schedule, if it does not include significant physical stress or hard work. Usually, the next step after minimally invasive surgery is hormonal therapy for endometriosis to prevent relapse of the disease.

Safety and effectiveness
The safest, most gentle method is hysteroscopy. She copes well with small lesions in the uterus and cervical canal. If the disease extends beyond the female organ into the abdominal cavity, then laparoscopy is performed - removal of endometriosis through micropunctures on the anterior wall of the abdomen.
Functional gynecology at Olympus Clinic can significantly reduce the time of surgical intervention, eliminate the cause of pathology, reduce the risk of tissue damage and speed up the patient’s rehabilitation process.
