Tympanometry
A diagnostic procedure aimed at assessing the function of the eardrum, middle ear and its structure by measuring the mobility of the eardrum in response to changes in air pressure in the ear canal.

Diseases of the middle ear, such as otitis media, eustachiitis and perforation of the eardrum, can cause pain, hearing loss and other unpleasant symptoms.
Tympanometry allows you to identify changes in the mobility of the eardrum due to its inflammation, scarring, perforation, the presence of fluid in the middle ear, impaired function of the auditory tube (tubotitis) and rupture of the auditory ossicle chain, for example after injury. Tympanometry is performed using a tympanometer, a device that measures the pressure in the middle ear and registers the mobility of the eardrum in response to pressure changes. The procedure helps to diagnose middle ear pathologies, evaluate the effectiveness of treatment and identify possible complications.
No preparation is required before tympanometry. The patient is recommended to: Bring the results of previous ear examinations, if any Clean the ears of sulfur plugs (if necessary)
The patient is inserted into the ear canal with a small earphone to which a probe is attached, which creates pressure changes inside the ear canal and generates sound waves. The device registers the response of the eardrum to these changes, which makes it possible to assess its mobility. The procedure is absolutely painless.
For tympanometry, the following are used: Tympanometer Probes of various sizes for hermetically sealing the ear canal Computer for recording and analyzing data
After tympanometry, there is no need for special care. The doctor will analyze the data obtained and, if necessary, prescribe additional examination or treatment.
Benefits
Speed and painlessness
The procedure takes only a few minutes and is absolutely painless for the patient.
High information content
Tympanometry provides important information about the condition of the middle ear, which may not be available for other types of diagnosis.
Suitable for all age groups
The study can be carried out in both adults and children.
Immediate results
The results of the study are available immediately after its completion, which speeds up the process of diagnosis and treatment.
