Depending on the indications, OLYMP CLINIC otorhinolaryngologists perform the following procedures in the pharynx and larynx: application of the drug to the oral mucosa, opening of a paratonsillary abscess, including dilution of the incision edges and revision, classical and hardware washing of tonsillar lacunae, removal of neoplasms and foreign bodies from the pharynx or larynx. An autopsy of a paratonsillar abscess is performed under local anesthesia. After analgesia of the site of inflammation, the doctor opens the purulent focus and removes its contents. Then the cavity is disinfected. Classical washing of tonsillar lacunae consists of two stages – preparation and processing. At the first stage, the throat mucosa is treated with an anesthetic, the doctor puts a cannula on a syringe. At the second stage, a specialist removes deposits accumulated on the tonsils and treats them with medications. Hardware washing of tonsillar lacunae is performed using special equipment. The hardware effect removes deposits more efficiently and has a therapeutic effect, stimulates tissue regeneration. The procedure lasts about 10 minutes. Removal of pharyngeal neoplasms is a point effect that does not affect healthy tissues. Removal of foreign bodies from the pharynx or larynx is carried out on an outpatient basis. To extract a foreign object, special tools are used – tweezers, forceps, a laryngeal mirror. To eliminate discomfort, the doctor may apply local anesthesia or sedation.
