При необходимости назначаются дополнительные анализы крови и мочи. В завершение консультации врач обсуждает результаты обследования, дает рекомендации и при необходимости назначает лечение.
Гинеколог использует инструменты для осмотра, ультразвуковой аппарат для исследования органов малого таза и кольпоскоп для детального обследования шейки матки. Осмотр проводится на гинекологическом кресле.
