Eating disorders
Eating disorders are a class of mental illnesses in the form of eating disorders caused by excess weight and body shape.
During their lifetime, various eating disorders develop in about 8% of women and 2% of men.
Reasons:
Heredity, psychological factors and the social environment play a key role in the occurrence of eating disorders.
Symptoms:
Frequent weigh-ins (if there are no medical indications, weigh-ins are recommended no more than once a week).
Striving for a certain value on the scales.
Giving up your hobbies, meetings and set goals due to body shape and weight, following a certain amount of calorie intake.
The designation of the time frame of food consumption: "don't eat after six," etc.
Refusal of sugar-containing, flour-based and highly nutritious products without medical indications.
Weight loss of more than 20% of the total body weight within six months (in the absence of somatic pathology).
Body weight deficit (lower limit of the BMI norm = 18.5 kg/m2)* food intake exceeding your norm, with concomitant feeling of heaviness and subsequent feelings of guilt and shame at least once a week for 3 months.
Compensation after overeating / regular meals in the form of laxatives, diuretics and drugs to reduce appetite, working off meals with physical activity or subsequent strengthening of strict food rules at least once a week for 3 months.
