Alopecia
Alopecia is a hair loss that results in complete or partial baldness. This disease can affect any hairy part of the body, but most often affects the scalp.
The most common forms of alopecia are androgenetic (hair loss in the frontal-parietal area) and nesting (an autoimmune disease that can cause sudden and complete hair loss). The problem of hair loss can bother a patient of any age group.
Reasons
Genetic predisposition
Immune system disorders
Hormonal changes
Symptoms
Noticeable hair loss, thinning, bald patches
No inflammation or flaking of the skin in areas of hair loss
Possible damage to eyebrows, eyelashes and body hair
In some cases, changes in the nail plates
Consequences
Alopecia can have a significant impact on the patient's psycho-emotional state, causing decreased self-esteem, anxiety, and depression. However, it is important to note that this disease does not affect overall physical health and is not life-threatening.
Лечение
Conservative treatment
Alopecia is treated by a dermatologist. Medications and medical procedures are selected individually depending on the causes of hair loss. For some types of alopecia, medications are used that can stop the process of formation of thinning foci. PRP - the introduction of platelet-rich blood plasma - may be indicated to stimulate hair growth.
Surgical treatment
Currently, a hair transplantation technique has become available for patients with androgenetic and other types of alopecia, which is actively used in many countries. For example, Turkey has become a “center” of medical tourism for hair transplantation. The essence of the method is to restore hair in the area of thinning, when healthy hair follicles from the donor zone are transplanted to the area of alopecia foci.
